Beautiful portrait of Busan! Also when the cold beer, pork belly, and plastic chairs combo hits just right, you have no other option than to fall in love with the city.
A great testament to a great city. Proud of all you've achieved there and loved riding along on your journey through your words. Congratulations on 20 years brother. Well done.
Beautiful love letter to Busan!! Twenty years is a long time. I too fell in love with a place, Mexico's Caribbean coast. It's an electric satisfying feeling to know there's some place on the planet that totally suits you. Great post.
Thanks Jeanine. Yeah, I am somewhat dumbfounded that I've been here this long. Mexico is very easy to love as well. I was utterly charmed by Guanajuato and hope to go back that way soon.
I lived in Cheongju and Seoul, and only visited Busan a handful of times, but I have a soft spot for it. If I ever returned to Korea, it's where I'd want to live.
Wonderful story about a city that has captivated you for two decades. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
It reminded me a little of how my post high school gap year in Europe ended up lasting forty years.
40 years? Wow. Thanks for reading and the kind words, Paul.

Yeah, it was a Bourdainian moment, for sure.

It’s great you hung in there - and the serendipity with your writing life. Yes, Mexico is beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this post. I’ve always had a soft spot for second cities!
